Principal’s message

Hello, everyone.
Thank you for viewing the home page of Midori City Omama Municipal Junior High School.

Forward

Last fiscal year (Reiwa 2), many school events were postponed, scaled down, or canceled, in conjunction with the closure of schools during April and May, in order to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We have sustained school operations with the understanding and cooperation of the local community, parents, and related organizations. This year, too, the school will continue to operate while implementing measures against COVID-19. We would like to work with the guidance and cooperation of the local community, parents, and related organizations, and we appreciate your continued support this year.

Greetings from the Principal

In April, Showa 22 (1947), Omama Junior High School and Fukuoka Junior High School were founded by temporarily using the Omama Elementary School and Fukuoka Elementary school buildings, respectively. In April 1970, the two schools were combined into Omama Municipal Junior High School. Subsequently, due to the merger of towns and villages carried out in March 2006, the school was yet again renamed to the current Midori City Omama Municipal Junior High School; a school with a tradition of 73 years of operation and 50 years of integration. In 2019, the 50th anniversary ceremony was held in conjunction with Omama North Elementary School, which opened simultaneously.

Situated atop a hill overlooking the town below, the school is in a wonderful environment, surrounded by a large schoolyard and lush greenery. The number of graduates exceeds 15,000, and it is an academic institution that has produced many talented members of society, is supported by the local community, and imparts history and school spirit to the present. The students are cheerful, honest, and energetic. They are also enthusiastic about club activities, and every day we receive lively greetings from the students who have finished their morning practice. It is also impressive to see the student council members actively working in an effort to enliven student events.

With the motto “Gentle, Friendly and Strong,” all the energetic and cheerful faculty and staff will strive for further enhancement of Midori City Omama Municipal Junior High School with the support of the local community, so thank you for this year, as well.
